May have found a really good place to hunt!

On my way home today, I drove through a tiny town about 20 minutes from the house and noticed an old methodist church. I went to the police department to see if they could tell me who to contact about the property. While they couldn't offer me any information on the people I'd need to talk to, they did tell me that I was more than welcome to beep in the area between the sidewalk and street. Needless to say, I gave it a try. Found 4 coins.... one clad dime and 3 wheat pennies! One '42, a '46, and a '36. I can only imagine what is on that property... I only had about 15 minutes to hunt, so there is probably a lot more between the sidewalk and street as well. I'll get permission sooner or later... even if I have to mow their grass all summer in exchange!! Oh, and this weekend is going to be sunny and mid to high 70's. Maybe I'll have a good find to post by the end of the weekend.

Yes, you are certainly on to something. Maybe some silver on your next trip..

I'm hoping! McDave, your coil is awesome. It found the wheaties today. I can certainly understand why it is called a sniper now!

That sounds exciting and promising, Hope it works out for U. The police and the church is a good mix:help: Good luck , the 3 wheat pennys have gotta get U motivated:thumbup:Keep at it man.

Widebody, if you only lived closer! And yes, I pay way more attention to everything when I'm driving these days.... looking for fields with old wells, brick debris, or even flowers that don't belong in a field. Funny thing is that I have found some of my better finds in places that shouldn't have old coins at all. I'm thinking that good stuff came in with loads of dirt when the land was being made ready for construction.
