maximum depth

What are the minimum requirements necessary to obtain maximum depth, without regard to audio, relying primarily on 2D target crosshair?

Actually the smart screen crosshairs have nothing to do with getting maximum depth, and maximum depth can vary with settings depending on ground conditions. I would say though that in the best of conditions maximum depth can be acheived just like any other machine with the highest possible sensitivity, least amount of discrimination and probably running ain the deep revovery mode with a high volume and high gain setting, however too much sens in mineralized or iron can over power it and you might not see a target that a lower or auto sens setting might. Best thing to do is when you get a weak signal in the field adjust the settins around a bit to see what ones give the best response at that particular site and try and keep it at those settings...

Thanks again for taking the time for excellent advice! I hope some day I can contribute to this exceptional classroom!
