Max...BUDDY...Help Me Out...These Darn Rings Are Dragging Down My Clad Count!!!

Well, actually, I think I dug more clad this AM than I remember digging in a long time...like 137 targets in 4 hours! And that includes 4 rings, 5 pull tabs, 26 quarters, 27 dimes, 11 nickels, and 64 pennies.

I hit the low tide from 3 to 7 am. Only ran into Big Dave (who had a nice ladies watch he found) but did see two others from a distance. I was hunting the wet sand and shallow water but found that most of the targets were up pretty high in the wet sand...probably due to the positive highs and the negative low. The surf was pretty rough the whole time and like last night, I dropped my Excalibur in the surf one time. That's one of the great things I like having the water machine...not having to take "heroic measures" to keep it from getting wet, should I lose my grip on it. That and just rinsing it off after each use with fresh water, from stem to stearn...very nice. Anyway...as usual, the Excal delivered the goods with two nice gold rings, a couple of mood rings, and enough clad to feed a family of five! At Taco Bell, anyway... And I have to say, I'm a little sore from all the digging. Still roller bladed for an hour from 7 to 8 though...good times.

The diamond ring is a lot like the one I found and posted last weekend (which I sold, by the way...to a lady at work) but it has bigger diamonds and more of them. Looks better in person too...it sparkles a lot more. I'll be keeping this one because my wife likes it.

So here we go with some pics.

I know the pennies are excessive, but I decided to dig them all for a change. Actually, towards the end I started leaving them. But only when I was positive. Some of the crusty ones, man they sounds good. And then there were the Chinese quarters...lots of them out there...well over a foot deep. One was a 1965. Anyway, the ball is in your court and you have a few days at least before you have to worry about me posting anything else. :)

I saw where you had it apart but I guess I missed the part where you sent it in. What's being done and when will you have it back? Man, no machine in the middle of the summer...that's a bummer!

It IS a great time of year to live here, that's for sure. Every day the "booty replenishment crews" are hard at work, re-seeding the beaches with goodies. And as fast as they toss them out there, we sweep behind picked it all up. Tell you what though, the first big storm we have is going to spread some serious cheer down there. As always, you can bet there's a lot more there than meets the scoop. Guess you'll be making a road trip about that time?

Yeah, big bummer.....No worries though, I've been busy with a little surfing and moving my furniture around the house because I got new carpet and we did a lot of house cleaning etc......

I replaced the coil cable that goes from the waterproof connector into the control housing, as the old one developed a short. Put it back together and it just wouldn't work right......tried and tried but to no avail. This Wednesday will be two weeks at the repair place; hopefully I'll get it back by the end of the week. I'm ready to do some late night hunting. Where are you parking late night, is the pier parking lot open that late??

I'm also going to have them put on a new pair of headphones since the originals are all beat to heck.

Maybe I'll see you late night out there this weekend coming up; I just hope they get it sent back this week!!

Keep up the great finds!

I either park in the 9th street garage (VB residents $1 after 5 PM and good UNTIL 5 AM) or the pier, which is open all night.

The weekend night tides are like 11 and 12 oclock, so I supect a lot more hunters will be out there than normal. Let me know when you get it back.

It was when my CZ-70 had to go in for a repair that I took the plunge and got the Sovereign Elite for a backup. And what a blessing in disguise that was, because now the CZ is the backup. And a great backup it is, too. I would highly recommend it OR a Sovereign GT. Either one would be a great beach machine as well as open up that whole "land hunting thing" for you.
