Maui beach hunting

Going to Maui later this year, never been to the island and was wondering if anybody has any good info on hunting the west side beaches will be staying in the Kaanapal beach hotel. Thanks for any info
 
Head up towards the Sheraton from where you are. Some nice beach area there and also great snorkeling at Black Rock, the point there! Aloha! and good luck!
 
Should jump over to big island and we can hit some beaches over here. You can find me at honokahou harbor. I work on the Sunlight On Water boat.
 
You should find lots of clad on the beach in Kaanapali. Also go north of Black Rock. The beach also gives up clad and I found a few pieces of silver jewelry up there. Depending on when you are there, the activity of whale watching can be very disruptive to detecting but it can be very entertaining.
 
Watch out for that Gord character, easily recognized by his lime green speedo, pink Hawaiian shirt and ostrich skin cowboy boots.
