Went to the local city park at lunch today and was going to hunt the sidewalk construction area but they had not dug any more paths. I decided to go into the main park area and was looking for some shade because it is HOT !! I got a nice nickel signal and dug this 1892 V Nickel at about 5 inches. Seems like when I find a coin in the 1800's it is often a 1892 ..kinda weird. I have a Barber Quarter and dime both from 1892 must of been a good year for minting coins.
Nice job. Nickles can be super challenging. I find a lot of 1895 coins. The other weird thing is that almost all of my Walking Liberty Halves are war years. We always say how cool it would be if our finds could talk. Thanks for sharing.
Nice job!
Seems you learned your nickle signals pretty good.
I think the economy might have been a bit better in the late 1800's.
Just guessing though.
But figure gold and silver trade was booming and civil war over.
