Master Hunter

I have a Master Hunter I bought new about 16 years ago. It worked very well and the last few years it sat unused. I recently took it out to use and noticed it was very "chirpy", I also noticed whenever I touched the coil wire it made this noise. I just bought a new
White's Prizm III but wondered if the Garrett might be easily repaired. I guess that perhaps the wire just went bad. Any suggestions? Thanks, Susan

Did you install new batteries and check for corrosion?

Bill

Thanks Bill, I contacted Garrett. I don't see any corrosion and the batteries are fresh. This machine sat idle for a couple of years before I got it out on two occasions within the past several months.

I have a compass that does that. If you move the coil wire it freaks out. I think it's the coil connection on mine. Gonna replace the connectors and see if that fixes it. Maybe the same on yours?
