Master Hunter Big Box Question

Did Garrett make a 6, I have seen plenty of 5's and 7's but have yet to see a 6...If so, is there a real difference between the 3 detectors.

The ADS 7 has belltone audio on pennies, dimes and higher coins and the 6 gives the same single tone audio on all targets. I recently traded an ADS 7 I bought in January of 1988, would still have and use it but old age and arthritis told me it was time to let it go and I traded it for a Freedom III CDC a few months ago.

Back in 1987 I saw a picture of a guy holding up a Garrett Master Hunter along with a fistfull of gold nuggets and have had gold fever ever since:drool:

I never did fantastic on campsites and coins with mine back late 80's except on iron. The Fisher 1265 or 66 (can't remember so long ago) was my campsite machine. Back then you had to have a machine for shell, one for camps,The MH7 was top of the line back in 87'. I do remember paying over $600 for mine back then. With the 13" coil that thing would suck iron shells out of the ground. I did have a hip mount kit and the arm brace that attached to to the unit. Until I got the Fisher for camps I did pull a beauty of a CS Sardine Can stmaped brass buckle out with it though and a good many bullets. I still see of them pop up on ebay. That 1266 pulled out some serious relics too. But the old MH7 still is a hoss but unlike some of todays machine was a pain in iron and seperation for camps. I think the frequency was down low around 5khz but don't quote me on that, I know it loved the iron.

All of the ADS 5's...ADS 6's...and 7's operated at 5KHZ...and used the old Co-Planar coils.....the ADS 7X was an upgraded ADS 7 and the frequency was bumped up to around 7.5KHZ and they used the Crossfire coils....the Crossfire coils gave the machine about 2 inches more in depth.
