Mass trip with Vision

Just got back from a trip out east to Ma. Stopped and detected different places on the way. I saw some real interesting things while I was there! I sure wish I had more time there. Before I forget, I want to thank Schrecky for helping me out while I was going through Pa. The pictures are not that good but some of my best finds are an old cross that has Latin on it I think, found at an old asylum, A officers button from the civil war, a 1916 barber, three mercs, 8 wheats, three rings and last but not least, a 1864 2 cent piece that I have soaking right now. I looked at it and it is the small letter version. I also found a couple of old bottles and a machete, some old bullets and had a blast doing it. Tired of all the driving though. Had a great spot picked out in Maryland and checked with the police and I am glad I did because they told me absolutely no metal detecting in their town! I got out of there fast!
Anyway, hope you like they pics and if you ever go out on a trip detecting like I did, Its best to have some spots set up ahead of time...
Enjoy and HH

Prosperous trip for sure. Glad you had a great time and uncovered some cool treasures.:twodetecting:

Its a secret Dave!...Just kidding,.. It was taken at an old asylum in Northampton Mass. right by the Smith collage. If you ever get a chance to go there,...do it. I am sure there are lots more trasures there. The place is huge and they are turning it into apartments so you better hurry. That tree was huge and it had maroon looking leaves...never seen one like it before.

Ok, I had taken a trip to Rockport, Ma and there's a really large tree and thought it was that one. I used to live in springfield, not too far from northampton but I don't know if I'll have time to go...I live in Ct now. Glad you enjoyed your trip....where do you call home?

I am in Indiana. I have never been farther than ohio detecting before. I had a blast. I wish I could have stayed out there for a while detecting...The trip was too short!

Nice finds sounds like you had a great time.

Where is the old asylum you mentioned, I am in MA and would like to check it out.
