It appears they actually found the bills in an old barn they were working on and the story of digging them was a cover.
If they had kept it low key they probably would have gotten away with it. tsk tsk!

Something just didn't jive there from the beginning. Wood would have rotted in the ground. The bills were too perfect & the story kept changing. Our paper had a picture of these 3 morons in their early 20's yesterday. The paper said they were all fighting over splitting it up. One guy said he was the finder & he was gonna decide the split, & his buddy was saying HE decided where to begin digging. So with all that greedy "in-fighting" I knew someone would blow the whistle next....
 
todays news says one of these fools was already arrested for making countierfiet money. So even though these old bills are legit, that also raised suspicions with the boys in blue to investigate these claims alot closer <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
