Ok, I understand that one target can make out another. Today I had a signal that was 83 but would signal a little iffy at 78. Digging found a zinc cent and a copper memorial cent.
Then I had a signal that would just chatter and it turn out to be a screw cap...

Yes masking is right , you will see this more and more. Thats why I dig pennies . Stinkin pennies from heaven .

I always dig pennies. Though right now I'm learning where the coins fall. So I might have been a tad high and been getting the copper ones first. But they all add up. My target goal is to get about $2-3 a trip.

Oh poo, I been hunting since 1987. So I though I was pretty good.
But learning a new machine is a plus...
I do want to go back to a park I was doing well on till I had my detectors stolen in 2000 or so.
I had a decent working detector with gb and was doing well on deep targets. Best was finding some wheaties. But no more did I find them when I had a newer detector. I attribute this to not having manual GB. So I guess in Aug I'd like to try that park and see if I can find a few more deep coins there.

I keep my g2 at disc.50 sens 80 and i pick up pennies at 78 at 80 im pickin up bottle caps 60 it's either a nickle or a pulltab 85 a dime and at 90 plus it's a quarter. I just write notes as I go along to remind myself. Soon you know your machine by heart and how to set it up.
