Mark-1 LTD Mod Finished!

I started out by purchasing the "Control Box" Only on ebay for $176.00 shipped to me. I had extra Coils for the tek soil I didn't
really need one. I called whites electronins and had them ship me
the upper assembly to a Whites XL Pro.From there I removed the top XL Pro cover from the rod assembly and sent it to Keith Wills,If you need
one Keith has one! Otherwise you will have to spend $135.00 to get just the top cover to replace on your 6000 XL pro or XL pro. I think
I spent around another $50.00 for original Teknectic Connector and Pins plus other various parts needed to complete the Mod. Below are photos of the conversion in different stages.

Balanced to Perfection!
I still have to replace the Phillip's screw with thumb screws
when I want to use it as a regular Hip-mount....The extra Wire for Hip-Mounting tucks neatly underneath the detector in the u channel, secured by Velcro.

I tried to have the detector housing mounted more to the rear toward the arm cup but the Balance was terrible...The way I have it now I can hold the detector with one finger in the middle of the hangrip and it is a perfect fit, with just enough play for the Larger 10" Tek Coil......I should have done this years ago...
So Much Better! than have being tied up to a Bunch of Cables like a regular Hip-Mount,but I have that Option if I should choose to do so

but I haven't done it yet.

I will. Because that Mark 1 or Teknetics of that class were not only great detectors they were exciting to use. More so than the newer detectors out now.

I'm in the market for the parts now. Congratulaions on getting her done.

I like it enough to get on it now thanks to you!

There will be two of use out there using those sweet detectors soon!

Excellant...just excellant!

Thanks for posting this...and if you can think of anything you would have done different let me know...
