Fort Dodge(1864 to 1882) sits along side the Arkansas river and the very first soldiers lived in 10'x12' dugouts on the north bank of the Arkansas. Last weekend a fire burned all the brush and stuff that made hunting this spot next to impossible so we did some hunting today. There were 70 some dugouts in the area in the picture. The dips in the ground were dugouts. I found this ball on top the ground and it had been charred from the fire on the top. It looks to be made of stone and about the size of a quarter. Ideas?
