Marathon hunt today, nets silver lode!

Went for a solo spin this morning, with the Excal 1000, into a 756A -1.6L AND NW winds at 15-35, so what that means is, the 4th sandbar rises out of the wadda here. Anyway, the unit is working flawlessly, thanks to Joe Demarco and Minelab. I now have Gray Ghost Headphones and lemme tell ya, there is a BIG difference. I can now hear the deep whispers clearly and the audio quality and comfort are beyond compare! This was my 2nd time out with it. The 1st hunt was heavy with clad and junk jewelry and could not get Huntress to take my pic, as she was not impressed. Was in the water at 430A and was pretty much wetsanding. Willia in Tex joined me shortly after daylight, with his GQA2. I was kinda envious of him, as I sold mine and I knew he would be able to signal China, LOL! Saw no other hunters all day. Targets were just enough to keep me interested at this location. Total clad take from this location was $2.85. Got a ferrous hoop, stainless ghetto chain, w/"ALOVJ" chrome plated pewter medallion, which broken away from the chain, shortly after recovery and a heavy man's ring, which says, "DAD" and it is .925, was hoping for gold, but as I say, silver 'L do in the absence of gold. It was slowing down, so I baled from here at 945A. Willia was still digging, when I left.

The next surf area was only hunted from 10A-1010A and it was a bust. Then I moved to another spot and hunted there from 1015A-1P. Total clad take was $1.70 and I chunked the rest of the nut from this location, as I went a groin over from where I was to an area that was shell laden, but it was FULL of can slaw, pull-tabs and all kinds of crap, so I unloaded, sorry guys.

At this point, I was really getting tired, but pressed onto another spot. I was hunting there at 115P and total clad take was $.79 here. Ended up recovering a .925 toe or childs split ring and a .925 band. Baled at 4P and I almost had a 12 hour hunt today. Total silver take shows to be .43 troy ozs., so that ain't too bad, but have not seen the yellow stuff, since 12/03, I sure do miss it!

Gulf Hunter, did you find that the Gray Ghost Headphones would give the same volume at max level as the stock? I have been wanting to know what you thought of them since you sent your Excal in for the change out. HH John

John, they are simply superior in every way. I cannot describe how wonderful they are. I was foolish to wait so long to have them installed.

1. Comfort-They are so comfortable, that they are hardly even noticed on my head. Stay in place much better, than old blues or Koss.
2. Audio superiority-Tones are sharper and not tinney, as the Koss. Even the very faintest whispers can be heard, with a strong wind. AMAZING!
3. I feel like the level of volume is about the same or better, than stock, but run my volume wide open, either way, but have only used them twice.
If you have anymore questions, send me a PM.

GH nice finds mate, as always your work ethic is amazing can't believe the gold is holding out on ya. Those pictures we talked about will be on the way to ya this week I think you will like them. Like you the boss is in charge of photo's and she has been in Austin on business but will be back this afternoon. Hope you and the family have a blessed holiday my friend.

Thanks for your input!

I plan on having the underwater model for my soon-to-be II. Your input is valuable and makes me realize that the extra bucks will be well spent!

Thanks,

aj
