Maps, GPS & old clunky computers(like mine )..........

I know Google maps is all the rage, which is fine if you are using a newer computer with an operating system from this century......but.....not everyone fits in that category. For many years I have used a handy little client program call TerraClient which can be downloaded here:

It is a client front end for the TerraServer that has some very handy and easy to use controls/features. You can zoom, measure, change brightness and even overlay a road map. The road map is a little dated, late 50's early 60's I think. A cool feature is that you can control the transparency of the overlay very easily. The maps are B&W but I find they make geographic features pop out from the landscape better. There's also real time Long & Lat readout for GPS use.

Here's a screen capture for you to take a gander.

With map overlay.

Ok Bill, I downloaded the program, but when I put a search in, it says not found? Got any Ideas?

Go to the Edit menu. Click on Preferences. Click on Server tab. TerraServer should be the following:

http://terraserver-usa.com/TerraService2.asmx

If not copy & paste the address.

Keep in mind it only covers the USA I believe.
