I have been dying to try my AT Pro since I got it a few months ago. It had the falsing problem, but Garret fixed it up, and today I was finally able to try it. The weather is still not great, but is getting better, today was +3 and the snow is melting. Anyway, I heard that the local beach (freshwater) is very low. I checked it out earlier today, and I could walk out over a hundred feet where the water usually is. It hasn't been this low in 50 years! Tonight I went and finally detected.
Getting used to the Pro is going to take some practice, that's for sure! I spent most of my time in standard mode, iron disc up to 40, and would activate iron audio to learn more about a target. I found 1 ring and 10 coins, face value of $3.17. Very cool machine, I can't wait until I start to really understand what this machine is telling me! Anyway, here are a list of today's firsts...
1. First real hunt of 2011
2. First time using the AT Pro
3. First wheat penny of 2011
4. First ring of 2011 (junk ring)
5. First silver of 2011 (1956 Canadian dime)
6. First time EVER to hunt on a beach
7. First time hunting with a pinpointer (man, how did I ever live without this Pro-Pointer?!?!)
What a fun time it was, it's going to be a great summer with my Pro! Happy hunting...
