Many days of computer hell:ranting: ..........

three family members with virus/spyware issues, one with new puter set up problems, many many hours on the phone etc.
Did you ever try to talk a newbie puter user through technical fixes when they don't have a clue what you mean by C-drive, OS, Cprompt, safe mode, etc:shrug:

Then wife's laptop puter broke down, i fought with it for several days while she used an old desktop that i dragged out of the closet.
Got it to work kinda better but then another glitch, the backlight in screen died! Expensive fix so she bought a new laptop:rolleyes:
Two days trying to transfer all paid security and other programs to the new one and of course she did not keep her activation code emails.......argghhhh!
Next comes transfer documents pics etc. All this while using a powerful maglite in one hand to see the screen.

Yeah, i been busy and grouchy:ranting: there are guys who get 50 bucks an hour for this and a bunch of peeps owe me bigtime!

Oh BTW......Hi everyone:wave::biggrin: I may be back one of these days, if the creek don't rise.

these parts and like you, I'm usually called on because of my pricing. FREE.... Like you, frustrating to explain it to someone who does not have a clue whats going on. I just take it home and do it by myself. If you don't have it, grab your self a free download of Microsoft Security Essentials . Well worth having on there. I run it on Vista, Win 7 and XP...

Just had one lady at the club who has a netbook. No CD or DVD on it, only access is via flash ram drives. Everyones stuff is on CD or DVD these days. Slowly I'm getting 16 gig flashram drive set up with most of what they need to get going again and all the free programs to keep it running. After that, they are on their own...
