Manual ground bal on deleon possible?

Hey just currious if anyones has tried a manual ground bal mod on any deleon if so would really know how it worked out, maybe monte can give us some direction here

Because it has two separate preset ground balances. One for AM and one for Disc. If one is satisfied with GB in all metal, why not trade up to the Cortes?

well can't you get rid of the preset and install disc mode GB because i love my deleon but would like it to more universal thats all

Well now that you've shattered my dreams on this mod (LOL) does anyone know if there's any type of gadjet on the market that tests soil conditions so you can adjust pre set gb your self?

The Cort

Monte go back to your whites forum,i think the Tesoro engineering talent is just fine.Target id does nothing past a certain depth anyway but bounce on all brand detectors,Tesoro knows this,The Tesoro line of detectors is best there is on the market right now.I just was reading how the expensive other brand detectors id digital screens were failing due to high humidity. If i could not hear i would get a id screen, other than that it is useless. All you want to do is talk about the bandido and put down every other Tesoro detector. The guy's on the Minelab forum were bragging how the e-trac could hit a dime at 9.5",so what the Vaqureo will hit it at 10".All these high priced tv screen detectors are crap. These company's are chasing there tails. The Vaqureo and Tejon will beat all of them hands down.Stop putting Tesoro down i am sick of it.Tesoro is the best metal detector company there is.

Well no need to get into wars here but as far as the TID I never liked them until just recently I had started off on bounty hunter time ranger and discovery 3300 and well they were ok but nothing to brag about, but then I decided to step up to the plate got a whites m6 then i would find a few goodies here and there but still could'nt get the feel for it then hard times came and decided to try the silver umax and oh my god this detector opened up worlds and could'nt believe what i was finding and was hooked on tesoro's for th most part since owned every land machine they built since then other than the cibola and cortez and lobo and bought and sold three deleon's the third one i did'nt want to let go just because i was really understanding this machines language for change and fell in love with it and right now i've sold all my tesoro's because I wanted to try something else but if the right deal comes along on another deleon i will grab it for sure i was just trying to see if it were possible to make it part vaquero with TID

if u can add gb in am mode i was just wondering because the deleon uses the same circuit board as the cortes is it possible to mod a deleon and make it into a cortes ?

It may be possible, but don't know how practical. I still think the easiest and best way would be to just trade up to a Cortes or buy one outright. I have a DeLeon and I guess I have much better ground than Monte because I've had very good results with it in my area. I don't really mind the way it IDs either because it's been pretty accurate on coins so even though a penny, dime, quarter etc. come under the same id I'd be digging, regardless. I do appreciate that zinc pennies and nickles have their own id as well.

the last deleon i had was very accurate and no probs with it at all only the depth meter was way off then on shallow targets it was about right but i really liked this machine all i was getting at and yes some things are always not practicle but if you like something why not build it to suit?

I don't want to get anything statrted here but I belive that you (Brokensignal) owes Monte an apology. You might think that Monte was putting Tesoro down but that was not the case. Monte tells it the way it is, he probably has done more positive things for Tesoro than anyone else ever has. I don't know how long you have been in the hobby, I have been at it going on 30 years and with the help from the good people of this forum & other forums I have learned many things & Monte is right up there at the top of the list that has helped me. Do some research and then you will see that Monte has been & still is a huge benefit to Tesoro. Not trying to offend you Brokensignal, just saying my piece on what I feel to be the facts. Thanks. Steve.

Monte is an asset to this forum..I'd hate to see him go....

He just voiced his educated opinion of the Deleon... I'm not even sure I'd call it an opinion, because what he said is true.... I don't think he was bad mouthing Tesoro as a whole

I skipped my meds yesterday! I know monte is about the best there is on tips & techniques on the operation of a metal detector and we all learn a lot from him. Thanks Monte. We all love you!.:cheekkiss:

Now that is more like it .

Perhaps you're just a bit too biased toward Tesoro? Maybe you haven't read through enough back posts to know who on the forums has experience, uses a variety of detectors, and attempts to provide constructive help?

I don't have a White's Forum. Right now, I don;'t have a form of my own at all, but I do post on a number of forums, White's and Tesoro, mostly, as well as general metal detecting and some other brands. I've been around this forum for quite a while and, as a matter of fact, I kind of like visiting here. :)

I don't, unless they have hired someone new. They had, but quit producing, one of the best nugget shooters I have ever enjoyed. The Diablo

my blood sugars are running low right now and I need to go take care of that as I have an appointment with the retina surgeon this afternoon.

Our prayers are with you-my in-laws went through the same thing-I was the one who had to drive them back afterwards. Man, it's nice how efficient the surgeons are nowadays-I got to watch it all on a TV monitor in the waiting room. BTW, I glimpse at the forum and if I see your name posted, it's the FIRST post I read. So really appreciated. Ken
