Out doing some tot lots till it warmed up a tad today, then went and did a relic hunt in the woods. my weapons of choice were the ACE 250/Sniper Coil + GTP 1350/Stock Coil. I got the usual clad, and keep an eye on that ugly thing at the bottom.

That ugly thing at the bottom turned out to be a small purse, and when I opened it, I saw some jewellery in it. I quickly wrapped it up in a plastic bag so that I wouldn't lose any pieces. Below is a pic of the contents.

The broach isn't gold, however, some of the other items might be.

Very interesting find John. Those do get the old ticker to pumping. Many years ago I dug up a pewter bank in the shape of a cow - full of some kid's savings from way back - all silver. He must have buried it and forgot it or forgot where he buried it. I've got a pic of it somewhere I'll try to post later. Let us know if you struck gold.

... Stuff like that is awesome. I actually found a five dollar bill in a book from the thrift store once. And a gold bracelet on the ground while pumping gas...and money blown up against a fence at the high school. These are nothing like your purse find, but treasure comes in all sorts of ways, in all sorts of places.
