Well I'm back after only 1.5 hours hunt...... Its like a blast furnace out there!!!!!!! It was already 77 degrees by 10am & super humid. I should of gone to the beach instead of to a forest preserve/ park!!!!!! But I managed to snag 43 coins for $4.49.

quarters - 13
dimes - 10
nickels - 1
pennies - 19

You know, I think I will go to the beach tomorrow and try my luck.

I see you are in the Chicago area. I am in Northern Virginia, I hit a wooded area I've been wanting to search, arrived around 0730, it was already 76 degrees. I quit at 1000, the mercury just tipped over 90, there was not a square inch of cloth covering me that was not wet. I managed to find about a half dozen Civil War bullet drops, but no much else. Good finds, but I am still drained---I got home 3 hours ago and drank at least 2 liters of water. It is just not as much fun when it is this hot and humid. I am out detecting with a GTI-2500. It is a great relic and coin machine.

Same thing happened to me in texas. Yesterday I left about 8 am and found a few dimes and a dallas star pin. it got so hot so fast i was dripping sweat on the detector screen , so i got the heck out of there after only about an hour

100 today 104 tomorrow. Already 75 at crack of dawn. Unpredictable Carolina weather as usual. Definitely slowed my detecting down but not my fever for it. Leaving at first signs of light tomorrow w/ plenty of water and ice. I may not get both feet out of the truck before I give up but its worth a shot.

I hunted an open cornfield today for 2 hours in 90+ degrees HIGH humidity, and to make matters worse all I found was shell casings!
