Man, I LOVE THIS WEATHER! :garrett:

A little chill and ice, it just seems to keep a whole lotta things hunkered down. For a change, working the edges again, hit a fairly target rich area. More coins then usual on this spot and managed to unearth 3 silvers and 6 wheat cents, in addition to some clad, lead and cents.

My first silver coin this morning was the 1903o Barber Quarter, which, has a full liberty. Not overly deep, probably 5." Then, it was a while before I hit another silver. That one, the 41s Mercury. About ten minutes later, got the clipped 42 Merc. (Yeah, I would have been sick if it had been.)

I have recovered quite a few clipped coins and pieces of, of late. For those of you that may be wondering, although we are a tad slow down here, we have been using lawn mowers for several decades now.

For those of you that may be fairly new with the A T Pro, don't be afraid to dig those clean sounding 77-78 readings. Although a lot of screw caps hit on those numbers, so do a good many wheat cents. Kind of work the target for size and also listen for a kind of clipped tone before and after the nice sounding high tone. If it sounds clean and small, dig it. If it has a clipped tone to it, it is probably a bottle cap. But, even a few of those sound good at some depth.

Stay warm, but don't give up the hunt. HH jim tn

Well lookie that! :surprised: Sure glad you got out! You are right about the weather keeping all things hunkered down, which is good for hunting certain areas.

Nice finds Mr. Jim.... Your on fire !!

Jim you're wearing it out. That's a really nice bunch of finds. A Barber quarter is on my want list.

Man, that's another great looking Barber! You sure are on a nice roll - clipped silver only counts as a half, though...

A half a Merc being different then just a old round coin should be worth more, shouldn't it? My nice roll ended this morning with just 5 wheats and two round balls besides some clad. My buddy did sniff out a Barber dime, though. There is always tomorrow. HH jim tn

Just 5 wheats? bummer...I bet they sounded like silver anyway... thats good to hear, at least we know you are somewhat human after all and not some sort of silver finding roboticon, no offense against roboticons or humans, well not against roboticons anyway..
You needed a break, those 3 silvers will carry you over for several hunts of nothing but clad to keep things interesting.

Got everything cleaned up and come upon 2 more wheats. 4 of those suckers today were in the teens and 20's. Must say the A T does get pretty darn nice depth. Got one of those brief whimpers with numbers flopping around. Not much to go on, but knew it was deep. Pin pointer finally found it the full length of itself down in the hole. Moved a bit more dirt and came up with a beautiful period round ball. Probably around a 58 cal. size. Stay warm everyone. HH jim tn

Quite a bit of work when it gets cold----but heck, better than sitting inside with the channel changer; Besides, the Sleep of a Laboring Man is Sweet. GREAT JOB!!

WTG on the barber quarter and the mercury dimes and wheaties. Too bad one was clipped. It happens tho. No telling what's left at this site. HH. I've yet to find any barber coin and they are on my wish list.
