Makro WaterProof PinPointer -My 1st look Video

NiagracountyNY

New member
I just recieved my new Makro WaterProof PinPointer.I did a short Video with a pair of Pivot Head camera glasses.Onlt took 3 times trying to keep the pinpointer in the frame. This one didnt turn out too bad. This is the nicest PinPointer Ive owned so far.I was very surprised is comes with a really nice case to store and carry the pinpointer and extra tips/batteries.They also Provided 2 tip protectors, one scraping blade, one round. These are a nice feature that just clip on and stop any tip wear. There are 4 sens levels.A led light.3 modes of operation:sound/Vibration/sound and vibration.I submerged the pin pointer in the video and tested on a coin for you to see the waterproof ability.I will be field testing this weekend.I hope this helps explain all the features and gives you a good look at what this unit is all about. Thanks for the review but dude, I hate to tell you this but I think your cat is dead  It didn't move once during the video! :lmfao:

Where did you get the PP from? I only find them avail. in mid Nov. My gf said to pull the trigger on one of these after I came home last night mumbling about "I quit!" and something about sending this cheap Chinese pinpointer I have back to Metalprobe with a tube of KY and an instruction sheet translated from google with what they can do with it! She said she was worried because I had a blank, dazed look about my face, mud and grass stains on my knees and NO BOOTY in the pouch after hunting the grade school for 1 1/2 hrs. I kinda have a problem with night hunting anyways (hand/eye coordination?) But that pointer falsing all the time, getting stuck on sometimes and 1/4" depth (if that) just makes it frustrating to even hunt. I had a Nokta R/S when I first started and but like you said, not waterproof and that slide switch jammed up with mud after the 3rd target around my neck of the woods. Thanks in advance

I grabbed mine from MetalDetector.com guys. There was a pre order list.I believe they are back ordered.I posted about a month ago about these pointers and where to get them,I was afraid this would happen. They are going to fly off the shelves.I would try there for sure tho.Good Luck. Jim T

Does it seem to pick up smaller gold pretty well or have you tried it? Like a gold chain or dinky little 9k etc. I was going to order an xpointer when they came out and wanted to wait til they had been out awhile because it was another Chinese pointer. I already got taken once (twice if you count the r/s) so I wasn't going to do it again. :nono: Then I saw several videos of them and how they act with gold and said "no thanks" plus I need a waterproof pointer for all the rain in the winter here. One other thing, when you had it out the other day, did you have any problems with the speaker packing with mud? If it does that then what? Just rinse and repeat? Thanks for the info. and the really cool LOOOONG video I watched yesterday morning. :clapping: I was right there with you! You were right on point with watching the video with my morning coffee etc. I literally laughed out loud when you said that. We nailed the silver didn't we?

Yea we did Abe! :twodetecting: Ok i just tested all the gold I have, the smallest item being a gold earing lets say 1/2 the size of a US dime.I also tried a bracelet .I could get the earing with the lowest setting 1/4 inch distance.the highest setting 3/4 -1 inch distance.I got even more distance on the bracelet.Rings of course were banging,2 inches. As far as Mud in the speaker..I was wondering the samething..So far It hasnt happened. If it did a little water would wash it right out.Plus you still have the vibration if the sound was decreased.I have a feeling my Hunt Video's will all be long now with these PivotHead glasses. Its just easier to leave the camera on for the whole hunt.Plus like you said, its like your right there with me.I must look really crazy out there talking to myself for hours LOL.

Well I ordered one from Windy City detectors. They showed taking pre-orders on ebay but their website showed them in stock so I dunno  We shall see. Thanks for checking the gold for me, I really appreciate that.

Hey good luck Abe.You might just get one without waiting. So far this pointer works awesome!! I have 1 complaint-----The sheath SUCKS! Plan on using your own.I will be contacting the company recommending a new sheath design. My clip pulled off of mine today. And the clip wouldnt stay on my belt half the time when I pull the pointer out. This is a minor issue( a sheath!).Easy to fix.Other than that i havent even washed mine yet.just keep wiping it off and go.Working great.

I really like this pointer.Working tip top still. Not one bit of falsing .Ive been using it daily.Im still on the 1st battery.Ive found the Third setting to be my fav for sens.I ended up walking back to the truck in the dark the other night and decided to check out the built in L.E.D flashlight.Worked great.Amazing how brite a little lite can be in the dark.I also like the fact I can turn the light on with the switch ,rather than the light being dark activated.I will check back in soon with a progress report.HH

Why does it beep when you lay it next to the hole sometimes and there is nothing there? I think my Nokta did that occasionally if I remember right. Also, in the Jesus video, right before you tried to dig way deep under that root there was a long, dramatic pause there and I was yelling "Dig it!" What was that? Don't get me wrong, ;) I thought it was funny.

When I have the sens set on 4,if you lay it down or tip it upside down it will beep. Its so sens on 4 thats all I can figure. Its doesnt seem to like the 12khz on the deus.gets along with the other machines well.i havent tried it with the ctx yet.The pause...i honestly dont rember..can you mark down the exact time on the film and I will go back and watch .The RS pointer does the samething on the highest setting your right.I didnt relize there is a small loop on the top of the sheath that you can add your own clip if I forgot to mention that also.

It was @ 39:25 I was getting way into it by then lol.

Hehe...I just watched it.I paused because I was trying to look at the little red light on the inside of the camera glasses that let's me know its recording.I was moving my eyes and not my head . :cam:

 I get it now. I guess that goes to show you just how into it I was. The coffee was great this morning too

Thanks for watching partner.that last couple have been un=eventful...But I figure if its too boring guys can just turn it off.Hoping to get out today where I found that bell, down the rd from me. HH
