I just received a Makro Racer for 30 days to give it a try and report back on my results.
My primary machines are an AT Pro and a CTX 3030.
This afternoon, I had an hour to kill after some short rains passed through. I was itching to get out for a short bit so I took the loaner Makro Racer to "silver hill" as I like to call it. It is an old property that has turned up 5 silvers on a very small hill near me. I've hit it with both the AT Pro and the CTX 3030 in the recent past.
I was specifically chasing high and faint signals in a fairly junky part of this hill. I hit upon a high pitch that was repeatable from different directions. It was indicating it was deep (8 inches or so) and it was not showing any target ID on the screen. It was the pitch that I was going on.
I dug and dug. I finally saw an edge of what appeared to be a silver dime so I stopped for a moment. I went back to my truck to grab my AT Pro to compare signals. They both had their stock coil. (Makro 11x7 and AT Pro 11x8.5)
The video of that is here:

As seen in the video, even with the dime exposed down around 8 or 9 inches, the AT Pro was not giving any signal on it. The AT Pro was in "Pro Zero" mode with no discrimination.
The Makro however was giving the high pitch which drew my attention in the first place.
I was impressed and am looking forward to hitting the hill all over again with this Makro Racer.
Other field tests to follow!
