makro nail test.

I posted a video of the makro and deus over in the metal detecting forum with a 2 nail test and silver coin. I know someone will probably say something about test ,I know their not perfect BUT they do give a good idea of how a detector will behave in certain situations. thanks

Couple of things, nobody hunts swing as fast as you are when testing the Deus. The Racer 2 you swing much closer to an actual hunting speed but still mighty fast. You should at least swing them at an actual hunt speed and both at the same speed. I'd sure like to see the same test with the 5" or OOR coil on the Racer. I know you're trying to compare the two using close to equal size coils, so why not test them at the same (realistic) swing speed. When I'm hunting in that kind of iron infestation, I'm going to use the smallest coil size available. 9" Deus and 5" Makro.
Thanks
Tom

I just copied this post from the metal detecting forum didnt feel like typing another long explanation. Couple things to note the racer would do well with a 5 inch coil but like said coil for coil is what I was trying to show. Another thing I see people try to test or USE the deus and use a slow swing speed it doesnt work well with a higher reactivity setting. The Deus reacts BETTER with a confident swing speed over targets, slow it down and signal fades the higher reactivity setting the more confident swing speed you need .It doesnt have to be a mad man swing but it has to be confident . The racer lost the test period im not trying to bash the machine or make it look bad, I tested it over the coin off camara too it is what it is. The racer is a 700 machine a good one too but it doesnt outperform the deus on seperation (its close) nor on depth and it shouldnt the deus cost more. I do hunt with a confident swing speed I dont granny swing the deus(reactivity of 2 I never set it lower) so yes the swing speed is what I use most of the time of course there were parts of the videos where I was swinging it real fast that was just to show it could still see it. Some will disagree about the swing speed but a quick test will prove what im saying ,set the reactivity on 4 and swing over a dime at granny speed and then try a more confident swing speed the dime will come to life with the more confident swing speed. 0-1 reactivity requires slower swing speeds but the higher you go the more confident it needs to be. The deus training videos also speak of the confident swing speed that the machine needs to perform. btw I went back and looked at the racer swing speed man I was swinging the thing like granny in a couple parts and other parts that is my swing speed most of the time.

Not testing in the dirt can be misleading. I had one detector (Whites) when you dug a target and then put it back in the hole and covered it, it would not see the target. The ground was changed my fisher picked up the target. The other thing is the freq 7 seemed to work well but with 12 it started to breakup. I can't remember when I hunted in a freq of 7....I have the racer one and never feel that I had wished I had taken the deus out instead. I trust both machines. But the deus would be the better machine that is why I use both you just never know. And I think with the racer the designer of the software did a lot of programing that we can't play with but don't need to because it works fine the way it is.

Dude, your posting in every single metal detecting forum bashing the Racer 2.....you truly do not even come close to havinng a clue how good the Racer is in BEATING the Deus in that test you did.

You prob' got a faulty machine or something...lol.

I have Racer 2 and done the test and it 100% completely passed with zero problem.

I'm gonna do a video of it 2moro and prove it.

The Racer not only EASILY passes that nail test, but IMHO....BEATS the Deus.

Matt.

You got a link to your video?
