Makro has got to notice this page.....

I have had a coil problem at the beginning and got it changed out. I have not had anymore problems from there on. I love the Racer. One of the best detectors I have used ever. GS

i'm with gs on this..i love my racer..best i've used, in trash especially..zero problems besides coil ..which was taken care of

Wayne despite the few coil ear problems a lot of this is people not realizing just how easy these machines are to use. You have to let the machines, all of them teach you, every brand teach you. We had evolved into a glut of machines that you could adjust every which way but loose. In reality, really, all but a few had no idea if their machines were set optimally. That's the truth in a nutshell. Along comes the Turkish machines that really operated almost world class, can't say "world class", people get upset LOL. But a few things they do no other machines can no matter the cost. They get the job done once you let them teach you what they are saying better than most by a long shot just turn on and go. There's no secret dealer settings, no secret sauces to pour on the coils, just plain superb detecting machines. What these machines have done for me and once people realize it is they got you back to basic metal detecting. It's been a long time since most just used raw power and no filters or preset setting the manufacturer thought would make your detecting much easier and stable and quieter for a more relaxed detecting session. That is helping/making you miss good stuff plain and simple. With these machines you get to make the decision with your ears and eye's. Ears is the BIG thing. Basic detecting, "once" they let the machine teach them. It will produce more finds and more satisfaction on your hunts and rest assured, there's stuff there these are finding that most machines cannot and will not find. If someone needs all the bells and whistles and the machine doing stuff for them, when they have cleaned a place out proverbially. Let someone with either the CoRe or the Racer walk in there that has let the detector teach them and you would be amazed at what didn't get seen by the other machines. I've witnessed it first hand and my hunting buddies saw it too.... Besides it's too hot to hunt right now. Time to fish a lot and swim some in the river. This fall will open back up the detecting world again.

and it shows by how quickly and efficiently they have been at responding to any product issues in a timely manner, especially when compared with most other detector makers.

As for the posting of finds, I have seen quite a few posts by Racer and FORS CoRe users, but I have also noted on Forums of many other brands that photos are not all that frequent, and there has also been more limited posting of discussions on many forums. I feel that might be due to weather that limits activity, too. I know mine has been restricted due to the heat, hitting 98+° at 11:45 AM today, and we are at 104.1° now at 1:15 PM. Not only does the weather limit some activity, but while I have over fifty years of metal detecting enthusiasm, I don't have a camera or usually think of getting photos of my finds to post. I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone in that regard.

I guess I'll have to budget for a camera in the near future.

Ihave to say since I have been testing the racer I don't worry about my deus anymore. I feel when I hunt with the racer I have a different edge then the deus. I plan on using both.

Once the Racer user has told a Makro rep about a problem, the problem has always
been fixed quickly. That's my impression from all the forum posts I've seen, both on
this forum and others. That's also my experience with my only problem (a broken bolt).

Have I missed something? The only people who have continued complaining about
a problem are people who haven't yet gotten around to contacting Makro. Apparently
Makro is supposed to fix these problems using ESP.

When it was cooler I posted how much I liked it for buttons in heavy trash. Not heard much from me lately....not due to a bad unit but instead high temps and grown over sites. A lot of folks have other hobbies as well, camping fishing or just summer with family. It seems MD forums go through this up / down cycle every year. Would say the Racer would do just fine in the heat but like goodmore said...the guy swinging it may not do as well :stretcher:

I was just thinking.... LOL Maybe instead of a flashlight they should have put a fan on it.. ( A Joke) hahaha ... Your right, been very hot in some areas .... less detecting and thus less posts..
Also the Makro is known for separation rather than as a depth demon..... as is the CoRe............. Either way you can't go wrong with them...
Their both excellent detectors.

This is from a short hunt today at a local school. My trash to coins ratio was excellent. I will have a video of some of the hunt up later today.

I tried to sell mine two times. I put what I thought was a good price each time. A few bites then somebody would come along and list theirs cheaper. And Bam no more action. So I started using it again and darn if I don't like it now. So I think I'll hold on to this detector for a while. Now a major part of that is there isn't any other detectors out there that excite me right now.
