Making "cents" of it all

Here, for your amusement, is the latest outpouring from my tumbler. A shot of Mr Clean, some aquarium gravel and about 10 hours of tumbling and - Voila! pretty cents. I'll roll them later and squirrel them away among my vast and priceless horde of treasures.

Awhitster, please note that I left some grubbies in there, just for you. It's my way of thumbing my nose at the system in general. I thought you might appreciate that.

As the pile of rolls gets bigger (I added some more today), I have to now decide what to do with them? Should I buy a gold coin, as our friend John does? Maybe a new wet suit or scoop for water hunting is the "ticket." Any suggestions?

Easy feller. I'll have you know I just cleaned what I got at the school today. I put them in my sand scoop, give them a good shake and BLAM, el cleano (I posted a before and after shot, nice huh?)
Well I see your conscious has finally gotten the better of you.. Im eager to know what mysterious cleaner your using and not telling us about!
I knew you would like it. Those are ready to roll. Now one more time, put in sifter, shake, dump out, ready to roll. Fast and easy. If you ever get any of mine in change, let me know:rofl:

Thats the way I used to do em, too. Awhitster, the Rebel.

I'm gonna have to roll all my cents sooner or later....out of curiosity whats a tumbler cost these days..thanks to anyone with info...Gary

I got mine off ebay for about $11 + shipping. It was used and I had to replace the drive band. Bill has suggested common 1/4" rubber bands for replacements. Good idea!

New ones go for around $20 and you can get them at Harbor Freight. Just Google rock tumblers.

If you catch them on sale at Harbor Freight - about $19.99. Years ago I paid $45.00 for a Loritone but haven't used it in ages.
