My version of making an electrolosys machine. Use at your own risk & thanks for watching.

I have been wondering on how to make one and now I know. I guess the amount of time you leave the item depends on how cruded up it is? Thanks for the info. John

John they work great but you have to keep an eye on the target and check it because the clips get hot and may leave marks on say silver. Use copper clips if you can find them other wise the others will corrode up on you after a few times.

YUP it works great, only problem is all the gook that floats on top,and also discolors the silver and gold.
Any cure for that?

Change the salt/water solution after it starts getting dirty, like say 5 minutes or so into it. Really for me silver usually only takes about 5 minutes to clean. You can over do it and the coin will actually start to get dirty again. I use stainless steel for my clip (a hemo...whatever those medical clamps are called) to hold the coin, and another one at the other side of the cup to pass the current there through. Nice thing is the wires are soldered to them at the finger holes well out of the water. To hold the hemos in place in the cup I use some clothes pins to clip them to the side of the cup. The stainless steel these things are made out of won't rot away from use. Once in a while take some sand paper and clean the oxide off the one that doesn't hold the coin, as that's where it will build up. If it's building up on the one holding the coin you have it reversed.

If the silver isn't bad I just use baking soda to clean it with a little water rubbed between my fingers. Shines them up real nice. Silver rings I like to use the electralysis on as it will clean between the nooks and crannies. It works good on copper and bronze coins too if they have crud on them that won't come off.

Works good soaking coins in hydrogen peroxide. Cleans them with no damage. Copper needs a little oil on them after.
