Making a treasure chest by Da Yooper

My old coins are becoming scattered and very unorganized , time to take action and clean up this mess. So I decided to make my own coin box(treasure chest). First thing I did was to come up with a design and size of the chest. I would like it to hold 2000-2500 coins. Next I got the wood. I am using 70yr. old birch that came from a antique hutch, dont worry it was in bad shape. So I gabbed my tape measure and began cutting and after 3 hours this is where I 'm at. I still have alot to do as you can see. I will update with more pic's as I work on it. Well here it is complete and filling up fast. I still need to get about 600 more coin holders, I used all that I had. It took longer than I thought to finnish but I think it was worth it. For some reason I could'nt edit my other post on building the chest. Hope you all like it I do. Sorry I could'nt show all the pictures not enough room.

Nice job, but how much does all that weigh (loaded with coins of course)? Just bury it (full) somewhere in my area and I'll be happy to dig that up:rofl: Nice work and I hope you fill it up soon!!

It's really not that big, (10"x 13" x 15") with the coins I have in it now it's about 12 lbs.
