Major MOD: Convert a walk thru to a mobile ground unit:wacko:

An absolutely crazy idea:

I have been offered a free-walk thru metal detector if I want to pick it up. Already owning an ATV and a portable generator, would appreciate other crazy thoughts on converting a walk-thru unit to one that could be used as a mobile ground detecting unit???

I know, I've lost my mind...but imagine the possibilities if it is a possibility!!!!

I know, I've lost my mind...but imagine the possibilities if it is a possibility!!!!

Anything's possible but you probably could build a large coil to hook up to your existing detector and make a towable unit for your ATV think meteor Man. There's lots of do-it-yourself information on making a large coil to search around. It'd be a lot easier probably better detection and a lot cheaper.
