Maiden Voyage

I took the V3 out for it's maiden voyage at the Jersey Shore for a quick hunt (only had 1.5 hours). I ran the stock Salt Beach program with the RX turned up to 14. It was very stable, the olny falsing I got is when my coil would scrape the sand. A lot to learn but a great detector...

Good start! Those bottle/crown caps sound/VDI as a Quarter. BUT look at the bars that show up and if you see any red...it will be a cap.

It took me a second, you mean red on the spectagraph Jerry? I was thinking red on pinpoint which there is always some red. Jerry is right though on the spectagraph, or in pinpoint, the 22.5 frequency will be dominate for a crown cap.......2.5 is dominant for a quarter. Al least in my ground and using the Hi-Pro program.

Your going to have a great time with the V3,it has tons of surpizes!

I second that!

Thanks for the input fellas! I had a pretty good idea that the bottle cap was trash, however since it was easy digging int he sand, and being my first hunt with it, I had to dig it to know for sure. Actually, my other detector being an Excal II , I am used to digging all target on the beach. What fooled me was the foil liner form the inside of a sports drink bottle....perfect VDI bars and number for a quarter....
