Maiden Voyage With New GT

Just for 20 minutes today at lunch, at a field just a couple of minutes from my office. Suffolk, Virginia...lots of Civil War stuff in the area. This field has been hunted TO DEATH by many and by me for 7 years. It's about the size of a football field. Previously dug bullets, buttons, and a few nice coins there. Machines included DFX, CZ-70, Quattro, Explorer II, and Explorer SE. All found stuff the others missed but not much. Last couple times out with the SE found maybe 1 bullet once and nothing another time.

Took the GT out today for 20 minutes there. No disc, no notch, ID mode, Iron Mask...Sunray S-12 with sens at 10:30 to 11 oclock. I have a meter but it's not on the GT yet...tones only for now. Slight threshold, smooth as glass too...very nice. Hit the whole 3-ringer minnieball at about 10 inches...solid signal. A few minutes later I got another nice signal off of the fired and smushed 3-ringer. Also at about the same depth was the little ornate clasp or catch or whatever it is and the other two things are "what's it's" but nothing was less than 8" deep and all were potentially good coin/bullet/button targets. I have to say I am very pleased. I will go back when I can and grid it real good. Tonight though it's off to the beach with some buds for the nor'easter we're in the middle of...taking the Excal tonight...hopefully some gold.

Here's a pic of the first GT targets...many more to come, I'm sure.

good work!!!!!! although there is no coinage, all the targets had possibility ,and the age is certianly there .......good luck tonight......hopefully you got some nice cuts going and are able to find the zone .......

Nice finds!,I find the GT super hot on lead, one tip to look out for is that the very deepest lead can hide as a null,it won't be a rock solid null but rather an unsure hsitant type of null with a very low tone trying to break through, this applys to other metals as well buy I get it most often with lead,I guess any low conductive metal might do the same,

anyway good look with the beach hunt
