Magnum 10" coil question

My question is for the the guys or gals that use one i received mine today and when i took it out of the package it looks like it is missing something so i took a few pictures to see if i could get some answers if it is suppose to look like this or if i am right that something is missing because it looks like a bunch of glue but they forgot to put the bottom plate lmk guys thanks in advance.

I've had my coil for over 4 yrs. I put on a cover ,cut out the solid center for pinpointing ,sealed all spaces between coil and cover with black automotive silicone. Well worth the effort.

ok i got the same coil and thats how mine looks but i think im having trouble with it it seems to throw off my discovery 3300 as far as indication of pennys they seem to be showing as quarters and dimes and when a bigger target is detected my machine seems to lag in returning to normal operation it seems to hang and take a few seconds to start responding again let me know please if you experience this type of action on your machine i dont think its normal but maybe it is i didnt order my coil fron bounty hunter but from walhab maybe i got a defective coil or my detector doesnt want to work with anything but the stock coil please respond back after you use yours so i can determine which is happening here thank you
