Magnet for new Scoop?

New member
New member here on the forum i have mainly hunted the past 3 yrs with the MXT but have never ventured far into the water. And i have a AT pro on the way and ordered a Scoop Thu Ebay from i Believe KaptainKosmic looks like an awesome scoop. Any reviews? I am looking for a good magnet to mount in the bottom of the scoop down here in south MS we have a lot of beach but also a lot of iron and trash thanks to Katrina. I know there's gold and silver to be found so all hints tips suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also if anyone else down here wants to get together for a hunt let me know.
Thanks for the great forum where people can come and ask questions

I thought it was a good idea!

Try dropping an EARTH magnet on it. They take a real man to get them off metal. I have one on my digger which connects a butcher knife, trowel and digger together on my normal hunting gear. You wont have to worry about loosing them. Your only problem would be if you scoop is aluminum.... then you will have to attach it other than just dropping it in.

I have about a hundred of them.. Shoot me a PM with your address and I will get one or two off to you

Hello Joe,

I have the same scoop 9 1/2" that kaptainkosmic suggested to me and it is awsome! It will haul out a lot of dirt at one time and is beautiful to look at. Put a
1- 1/2" wheelborrow handle on it and use the full length of 52" if you go into the water. It has a 1/4" square hole system. I placed to magnets in it using tie wraps on the inside. Michael (see post above) graciously sent me 2 magnets to put in the scoop. They are great people. Well have fun. Marty

Marty Looks like we are on the same page with the same ideas i plan on doing exactly that. just trying to get Michael my address so he can send them out i appreciate the response. Joe

Joe,

You will not regret it. I keep the scoop in the living room and the wife does not say anything. I put 4 coats of marine spar varnish and that wood will last forever! Yepper, lets get some gold and silver stuff in that big puppy. Marty

Joe,

A great triple play, what a learning curve! Have fun with those weapons. If you get down to Jacksonville, fl we can hit the beaches for a hunt!
