Went out for about an hour tonight in a new spot really its just an old park but I had never been there. There was a sign not for recreational use no football, lacrosse ect but it didn't say no detecting so I gave it a try. Found my first Mercury dime 1919s then an 1899 Barber dime and then a wheat 1919 then a 1885 Indian and a 1952d wheat. I was so excited finally in the 1800's. A few minutes later one of the Troopers showed up and laughed when he saw it was me, He told me a lady across the road called me in as a suspicious person, she told them an old man bald with a metal detector. I maybe old but not bald lol any way we both could not figure out what was suspicious? It was my best day yet I love my QXT Pro it really sings on the silver and clad. I will try to get some pics but I usually have trouble with the sizing.

Congrats on the oldie finds.

Congrats on making the 1800's club. You had to be happy when you pulled your coins out of the ground.

I was More than happy it was my best detecting trip ever I was like a little kid on Christmas , went back to the spot tonight but no silver only a wheat

great job just make sure your running that qxt wide open
you should be able to go down to about 8-9 inches set up right and with good soil conditions.

I seemed to max out at about 7.5" with the QXT Pro, but then again my soil is somewhat mineralized. Yes, run it wide open. Don't even discriminate out iron or the ground zone. Noise Reducation Off. Highest (16 or 1:geek: stable sensitivity. VCO On. Pinpoint sensitivity at 16. Not much sense using Mixed Mode because discrimination goes just as deep if not deeper than all metal.

Way to go, the ladies description fits me lol, sounds like a good place to hunt long and slow. A trick to easily resizing pictures for posting is to e mail them to yourself and when prompted select the size for fast uploading.
