Made it out....

Made it out the other morning for my 1st hunt since being stateside. There had been some confederate buttons coming out of this site, but I was not so lucky this trip. I did get my 1st coat sized eagle "I" though. It's a little smushed, but I will take it. The disk lower right got my heart racing for a minute as I thought it was an ID disk. I also thought the coin was a good one as it says "FREEDOM" across the top with the eagle above the shield. It turned out to be a modern token. Any ideas on the brass piece on the top left? Sure was fun to dig in the GA clay!

Hey John,
Looks like you got a good site there....Nice finds. I've spent any spare time in the last few weeks focusing on stocking up the freezer with venison. Now its time to bag a relic :)... if it ever warms up a little.

Take a close look at the mid-caliber "three ringer" you have inserted into the Spencer case. I can't tell if it's a 3 ring or a 2 ring, rebated base .52 Spencer from your pic. If it has a conical cavity it might be a good one. Check the caliber and send me an email. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
