Well I have to say that I had a blast these past couple of days. It was great to meet everyone in person!
That area that Mike lives in is nothing short of God's country. Absolutely beautiful.
The highlight was getting to worship with Mike, Pete and Henry at Mike's church. It was an absolute blessing to be able to share in song too! (sure glad I remembered all the words ) I felt so at home at that church; everyone was so nice... I felt like I knew them all. If it was just a wee bit closer Vicky and I would go every week
The hunts were a so much fun! I'd never had the chance to hunt an area that had that much history. While I didn't get anything "old", I did get to see Mike after he dug the 2 IH's from one hole! Pretty amazing! Pete's IH was just about 4" down near a big tree! Me? I'm a magnet for memorials At least Mike was able to help me feel better about what I was listening for on the ExpII. Comparing targets with him was encouraging. At least I know I'm doing something right
I stayed at a real old B&B in the town of Mendon and the owner gave me permission to hunt the area. I was able to do that at sunrise each morning. Other than a wheatie, I didn't find anything old except for the top portion of an old lantern...
I'm pretty sure I wasn't the first to hunt this place. Certainly looked like somebody else had dug quite a few holes there recently. (although the owners didn't know about it) Didn't make a difference to me though. It was just exciting to hunt anyway.
All it all, it was a fantastic time away and I can't wait to do it again next year.
Thanks to Mike and Greg for putting together some great hunts!!! Although I'd suggest you don't bring your club to the place we're going to hunt 2 weeks before we get there
Man, it's going to take me a week to catch up on all the posts Going to have to post all the pics Vicky took too.
