Made it back to hunt again

Went back to the old house foundation and hunted again. Got my first wheat penny today.
Also got several more pennies and a couple of dimes, one was a 1968...not a silver yet.

The EXplorer sure makes it easy,I'm really hooked on the audio. It's pretty cool when you know a wheat from a silver dime most of the time. Are you running in Advanced settings with the Variability at 10? I certainly do as do a lot of people,it makes the definition between different targets easier to discern. Some guys run 7 or 8 and have a ball,it's all preference.
Too bad the ground is frozen here,I have to follow what everybody else is doing....

Both days I have hunted I have been wearing jogging pants and a T-shirt......
I checked and I have been running in preset with coins and jewelry selected.....got to try other settings.

Jogging pants and a T-shirt...that's just WRONG!! I'm very jealous...
As long as you're in presets and in semi-auto Sensitivity(little line constantly circling the Sens number) you might as well crank that Sens number right up to 32 and let the machine stabilize itself,as that's what "semi-auto" does...Coins and Jewelry seems about right to find what you're after at this stage. It's SO customizable, yet so simple if you want it to be. Keep us posted...it's all some of us have got!:veryangry:

Going to go back and try raising the Sens and see how that works, I know that .22 brass reads a good strong 8.
Had a strong digital 23 and dug it , I found a 9mm head. If it sounds I will dig it most of the time if the signal sounds more than once.
Not cone with this sight , had to come home as I forgot to pack a lunch (diabetic ) got to eat on time. LOL
Always the next day

great start az and good luck. sounds like you are enjoying the explorer and the outdoors. i have had decent weather here also in GA but still didnt go out but will soon.. go get the silver, keep digging and learning

Many find running variability at 8 or so helps determining audio but again your choice...and whatever works...

I've seen that too,I'll have to experiment with the Vari....sometimes it's easy to get locked into settings that you always have run,not knowing other settings may work better. I went through that with my IDX...
