Found property stakes for a landowner in town. Learned a few things:
1). If a landowner needs to build something, like a fence, he MUST know the boundary markers for many legal reasons.
2). A very slim sharpshooter is a great tool to have
3). Try to remember the size of the signal when you find the first one-I found 3 wires like coathangers on the second one.
4) Using the first stake along with the natural boundaries of the yard as a guide helps narrow the search for the others.
5) A business card for the detectorist will come in handy-this is about my 5th request.
6) Of course, you have to use all metal.
7) Be careful of sprinkler heads-the am mode will pick them up.
:geek: My Silver umax picked up a pipe at about a foot and I could still raise the coil and find it.
9) Next time I will also take a T-handle bottle probe-it's about 3' long.
