Macro using built on flash

Have been experimenting with my Nikon D100. Was having difficulty getting macro shots without over exposing the shot. Using ambient light was not bright enough to not have a long exposure. the shoe mount flash from my N90 is not compatable. So built a defuser so that the built-in flash would not over expose the shot. It is made from a heavy sheet of frosted plastic bent to cover the flash with a tab that fits into the hotshoe. Had to add a second layer to get the right exposure using the 90 mm Macro 2.8 lens

My camera is a Sony CD500 and I have light problems too. I use a seperat flash but have to also use a defuser. It sure helps

This is the built in pop up flash on the d-100
When using this with the 90 mm 2.8 macro was getting too much light.
This took care of the problem
the other flash that I have is the sb-27 shoe mount that i had for my n-90 and it is not compatable with the d-100
