Macor bug photo! Well sorta a macro bug photo...................

I kept the bug in the ice box for over three hours and after a minute or two he was already thawing out and not co-operating with me. This bug put me through hell for about ten minutes of my trying to get a decent photo of him. At this time, he made a dash for freedom across the table in Debbie's direction. I nailed him with the fly swatter just as Debbie was flying out of her chair. Debbie is pretty angry with me at the moment, said no more bugs in the house. I gathered up the pieces of the bug best that I could, then continued to try to complete my macro bug photography session. I tried to use flash, but again the flash washed out the photo. I ended up using no flash, but now developed a depth of field problem because of the wide open lens with a slow shutter speed. While disappointed in the results to date, I am not going to give up until I get a few decent macro photos. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

got me to laughing my butt off and just before I got to bed!!

listen to me when I told you how to handle the wives...the wives can be easily fooled if you play your cards right! For example, if we were late coming back from a fishing trip...go flying through the door, throw yourself down on the couch and tell her that you are really sick. You then tell her how you kept having to stop on the way home because you were so sick, but just thinking about her kept you going! After a few minutes, acting very weak, tell her that you probably better eat some dinner to get some strength back...sweet talk her some more and you are out of the woods with her. In the mean time, I will call from a pay phone and ask Carol how you are feeling now. I will tell her that I was really worried about you because you were so sick. I will tell her how I tried to get you to sleep in the car for the night until you felt better, but you kept saying how you had to get home to Carol, that you loved her so much! It works like a charm every time. This also covers my butt with Debbie. Wayne, next time you get into some trouble with Carol, e-mail me from the back of the house and I will talk you through it, OK? Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Now that is my kind of bug, macro photo.

Even I could possibly manage that!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

All the best

In regards to the dead bug...he got what he deserved. All I wanted to do was to take a bug macro photo of him, but no, he screwed up and tried to escape. All he had to do was co-operate and let me take a photo of him. You are wrong about the flower, while it may not have been in it's prime, it was not dead at the time that I took the photo, but it probably could have used a little water. You must also remember that the flower pictures were taken in the heat of the day and the heat causes the flowers to appear limp. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Guess he stays up late, surfing for po.... uh...on ebay while Mary is not there :rofl:

All the best

I thought about trying to do a better job putting it back together, but I could not find one of the legs, think it fell on the floor somewhere. Will you be doing any macro photography with the new camera?

Say, I am beginning to think that the bugs are different up there in the North, they seem to have a more mellow attitude...thus easier to photograph? The bugs down here don't like to have their picture taken. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

I have tried a couple of close up shots.. Not too good yet. However, give me time and I will get it together. On a stationary shot, like a medal or a coin, no problems. Those bugs do tend to make life interesting:lol::nopity:

All the best

Hey Fred, next time ya oughta use a hammer then blot the bug between two pieces of paper. Makes a nice even surface to photograph :lmfao:

poor bug, put him in the cold box and then pop him with a swatter--why not take a 30-06 to him next time? and take a pic of Debbie's table where u shot the bug.

Kelley, u -ever consider taking up golf:spin:

how hitting a small white hard ball across a pasture using a modified hockey stick can be a fun thing to do. I really do not understand how to play the game, nor do I have a desire to learn. I have watched a man by the name of lion Woods or tiger Woods make a lot of money playing the game these past few years which has created interest in the game for many folks. It is just not my thing to do.

In reference to the bug picture and the poor results, I am putting the camera away for a few days. I need to do some reading on the subject of macro photography and start fresh after a few days of not messing with that camera. I just want to make some pictures like the ones that Royal makes for posting on the Forum. I have finally determined that this is not going to be as easy as it looks, lots to learn. Debbie is still chopping at my butt over that bug heading her way across the table last night. Oh well, you learn by your mistakes...I am just going to regroup and try again after a few days of rest away from that camera. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)
