Used the AT PRO all summer in the water and on land never a problem..
Today after using it for two hours and changing sites turned it on
that was ok when I went to balance it acted like a macine gun
and could not quite it down only when I depressed the button it stopped.
It also would not sound on any targets in other words its on, but silent.
Anyone have that problem ?
The detector AT PRO has been in once for the coil falsing issue when
I first got it.
Likely will sent it in for the updating anyways.
Worked like a charm before this issue popped up.
especially in chest deep water for 3 or 4 hours at a time.

Wow...Keep us posted. I sent my in for the "falsing" issue and later gave it a good dunking only once...Kept it under water at local lake for about an hour, no leaks...

Forgot to mentioned I put a new set of batteries and it did not correct that problem.

I had that problem once. Changed batteries and reset everything to default settings to no avail. I set the detector aside because of a commitment and when I got back to it, it was working fine. I never did find the cause and the issue has not returned.

You said you changed the batteries but did you do the Factory Reset? Frankly, it sounds like something coil related, but you never know. Sometimes, just sitting it without batteries installed for a little while will bring some elctronics out of their funk!!

Had the same problem when I was using mine in the back yard. The unit was going bonkers and I didn't know why. I shut it down , took the batteries out, put knew ones in and the unit sounded like it was on steroids.I was going to call Garrett the next day. Before I made the call, I decided to give it another try and the problem went away,go figure. I did have the same problem about 2 months later on the beach, moved to another spot and the problem went away. The unit has been working fine for the last 6 months with no problems, keeping my fingers crossed.

Spoke to a :garrett:Garrett rep. this morning and he suggest sending it in.
Also they will do the update on it while they have it.
He said only the coil and the control box is all they needed.

Before you send it in. Try to tighten up the connection from the coil to the main unit. Or, even unsrew it and then re attach it. I've had that happen a couple of times and it seems that salt water affects that connection.
