MAC user

As I await the arrival of the CTX, I need to square away how I am going to use the software.

I am a MAC user.
I saw a post where someone recommended Parallels ($79).
I went to the Apple Store and was told that I would also still need to buy Windows ($200-300 from Bestbuy -- in whatever version is needed for the XChange software).

Can a fellow MAC user set me straight on what I really do need to be able to use the CTX software on my MAC?

Thanks!

E-mail MineLab and they will send you the firmware update file.

I don't own one yet, but from what I understand these are the steps: Plug your CTX into a USB port on your Mac. It should show up like it's a removeable hard drive. Drag the firmware update file onto the icon of your CTX. Eject the "CTX" disk and unplug the USB cable. You should see "Updating. Please Wait.....", then "Upgrade Firmware - Yes / No". Pick "Yes" and you should get "Upgrading Firmware". When this is finished the CTX should restart with the new firmware.

I'm a Mac user, too, so I feel your pain. The 3030 software update works and is easy (as stated by DukeOBass) but there is no way to use Exchange 2 unless you run it under Windows.

You can update the firmware in OSx, the instructions are available. You can not run Exchange 2 in OSx, you will need windows. You can use parallels or vmware but will also need a valid copy of windows. If you want to save the parallels or vmware cost you can run bootcamp, its free (still need a valid copy of windows). The only disadvantage to bootcamp is you must boot into windows or boot into OSx, they do not run simultaneously. With VMware or Parallels you can run windows inside of the OSx operating system.
You can probably find an oem copy of windows cheaper if you look around especially if you get XP or Vista instead of Win7.

Does Exchange2 require a certain level of Windows?
Does Windows come as a generic format or do I need a version that will load on a MAC?
