M6???

I was watching the beach hunting video on the Whites Electronics site. It is listed under the M6 instructions. Greg refers to the detector as an M6 and how it is a good and smooth beach detector. He even says now I'm going to hand the M6 to Jimmy Sierra now. Boy, that detector sure looks like an MXT. I've never seen an M6 that doesn't have an S handle. That detector has an MXT handle. Check it out. Rob

I caught that. Even called Whites and asked if I could get that version, lol.
But,after I got my 6, I really like the "S" rod, its well balanced.

I saw that too. I froze the frame and that M6 says MXT on the side. But what the heck. The information is still good, it is funny they didn't use an M6 all the way through the demo. I love my M6 anyway.

It just goes to show they both work at the beach. It was just funny they called it an M6. Rob

I also noticed Ol' Jimmy was using the MXT. But it was in the Beach Hunting Techniques chapter of the video so it never really bothered me. Both models are practically the same detector while in Beach Mode....

The important thing i got out of that was....Detecting 90 degree's to the water (not parallel). That way,you don't have as much soil content shift Variances in salt and black sand content). Dragging the scoop in the sand was a great idea too.God likes jimmy sierra (look at all the gold he has found) LOL

I Emailed Greg and asked him what is going on. He said just before they started filming. that he and the M6 got splashed by a wave the got the control box wet.So Jimmy chose to do the "Beach Hunting" segment with his MXT. So no sneaky business.just an act of God (wave) forced them to use an alternate detector.....HTH.........Tom

It may not have been sneaky business, but in the interest of full disclosure, it should have been mentioned. I would think that anyone doing a manufacturers product video would have back-up detectors as well as cameras. I enjoy my M6, but it does make one wonder??? It seems to me that one of White's selling points is good customer service, which is directly associated with honesty. I have only good things to say about White's and I hope that continues. Perhaps a new video is in order???

I don't think there was any deception intended. I only brought it up when people were posting that the M6 had a better ground tracking than the MXT, especially at the beach. Jeff Foster and Greg both posted saying they were the same. I just wanted people to see the MXT works at the beach and you see it does. Greg told groundshaker what the reason was and I belive him.

I agree absolutely. If they had no back up on hand then they should NOT have filmed until they
got another M6 on location. Very Bad business if you ask me.
