M6 with Bigfoot???

Anyone know of any way to make the Bigfoot compatible with the M6???.

I used this Bigfoot coil a lot when I had the DFX, but on the M6, only the front half is usable. I sure hate to think about giving up the Bigfoot, since I KNOW I won't be getting rid of the M6.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's what I thought too! That's why I kept my bigfoot when I sold the DFX.

The killer part is: the front half works just like it did on the DFX, but the back half nulls over the target and sounds like it's in all metal whenever the sides of the back half are approaching the target.

If there is ANY way to make it work on the M6, I'd love to know. As it is, I'll have to sell it if I can't find a way to make it work. What a shame!

If I can't find a way to make it work on the M6, you may be seeing it in the 'For Sale' section. What's the going rate for well-used bigfoots (bigfeet?) these days?

Is it house trained?

Why don't you call white's customer service department? Maybe somethings wrong with the coil. Keep us posted please.

Jimmy Sierra products in conjunction with Whites makes Bigfoot coils...I know the DFX has a program that makes the unit compatible where you can use the whole coil and when you pinpoint goes down to half for easier pinpointing..Apparently not being familiar with a M-6 it does not have this program..Basically same thing happened on the XLT and lower priced Whites with the same freq..Perhaps there is a way and Jimmy sure would know the answer....Come to think of it on XLT freq and lower priced units the whole coil worked but did not come in half for pinpointing so perhaps setting up wrong or the different freq. DFX works a bit diferent...Get it from the horse mouth so to speak before you sell.....

I have a Bigfoot for my DFX, and I am having a hard time pinpointing . I ordered the coil from Jimmy Sierra, but the instructions were missing something. I didn't know there was a special program on the DFX for this coil.

There is no 'special program' for the Bigfoot on the DFX. I have one and love it. You can use any of the preset programs although I have installed a slightly different program for it - thanks to some assistance from someone on the DFX forum.
The big difference is in pinpointing. Only the front half is active which makes it nice to cut down on the area to look at. The only instruction is to trigger, sweep your target with the front half till it is centered and then push the coil forward till the sound stops. Your target is directly under the coil mounting bolt. Takes a little practice but not much or I could not do it!
Pinpointing within 2 inches is fairly easy. With practice I have cut mine down to 1-1.5 inches. Then pull out the DX-1!

Today using the Bigfoot on a middle school football field:
7-25c
34-10c
4-5c
28-1c
Total=73 clad and
1 silver ring with a cut stone
1 silver cross

Thank you so much. I will do that when the frost leaves the ground. That is the best description on how to pin-point I have heard yet.

I'm going to call White's tomorrow and see if I can get some information on how to make it work with the M6. I LOVED it on the DFX, but it's not worth going back to the DFX just to use that one coil. So, those of you who are looking for a bigfoot for your DFX may find one available soon, if no mod can be made to make it equally useful on the M6.

I've checked all around - even the Jimmy Sierra website which says (incorrectly) that the bigfoot works on the M6. I'll probably hang on to it for a while to see if I can find a 'techie' that can figure out a solution. Who knows? I may learn to use it as is.

Thanks for all your input!!!
