M6 weight

Gopher; The M-6 weight is 4.0 pounds with batteries. Close your eyes and the M-6 feels pretty much like the Classic IDX Pro, or other metered Classics. With the arm cuff moved back flush with the end of the rod, the M-6 balances very well. (at least for me)4.0 pounds is not a light detector but the weight is centered below the forearm and the machine does not feel that heavy. More than half the time a customers first comment when holding the M-6 for the first time is,"wow, it's light". By comparison, my Mr. Bill Modded Idx Pro with stock 950 coil weighs 3.96 pounds. If you are considering the Idx Pro and the M-6, in my mind there is no difference in weight or balance so I would not let that be a factor. They are both very fine coin machines. In heavy trash, I would go with the IDX Pro with the 5.3 ( or any good 6 inch coil)In moderate to light trash or flat out swinging, I would go with the M-6. The Tone ID will spoil you real quick. Most users use the A/M mode until they locate a target they want to check out. Isolate the target then go to the Tone Id Mode (disc) for more information. Hope this helps. If you get eather or both you have made a good decision. Dallas K&D Detectors

Poorman. I appreciate your reply. I looked on Whites website for a weight of the M6 and couldn't find what it weighs. It's hevier than it looks. Thanks, Gopher

Weights about 4 pounds, but feels much lighter when I'm swinging it. Great balance, feels lighter that my Tesoro Deleon that weights about 2.8 pounds. I can swing the M6 for about 3.5 hours with out getting tired. The De Leon tires me out in about 2 hours.HH:wiggle:

Thanks Bill. I have an Ace 250 that I'm fed up with. Got it for X-mas. I guess I'm one of the few that feels that way. I just don't like the pin pointing on it.I think I'm going to get an M6. I watched the DVD on it that Whites sent me when I asked for a brochure and I liked what I saw. Coins are what I'm after mostly, of course I wouldn't throw a diamond ring back if I found one. Ha!
