M6 vs classic id

Bill_S

Well-known member
How does the M6 compare to the classic ID in performance as far as depth and target seperation in trashy areas. How would a Mr. Bill modified classic ID compare? I know the M6 has more features but depth wise are they comparable. Thanks.

I believe the M6 would do a little better job overall. The M6 like the MXT has a faster recovery speed and a lot better ground tracking or ground balance circuitry. This circuitry will auto track the ground or it can be locked after proper balancing for certain situations like high amounts of small iron trash. The Classic ID has a fixed ground balance which could handy cap it in certain ground conditions compared to the M6. Also the M6 has a better ID meter than the Classic ID which gives a lot more information to help analyze whether to dig or not. Also I think the M6 will get a little more depth than the Classic ID because of its better ground tracking circuitry.

Just my two cents there both great detectors.

Take Care,
Bill G
