M6 tone options

I was wondering if the M6 can be set up with a two-tone ID to work/sound the same as the MXT in relic/alternate mode. I am looking to pick up a machine for a close friend who is getting into MD'ing. I am thinking the M6 would be a great machine for her but I'm afraid that the multiple (7) tones may be a little overwhelming and confusing for a beginner. I hunt almost exclusively with my MXT in relic/alternate mode and since I'll be coaching her, I think this would be the easiest if I could set up both machines with the same tone ID's. My first thought was to pick her up an MXT (go figure) and solve this problem but have the same concerns about confusion. Beyond the answer to my question, I'd also like to hear any opinions on this matter. Thanks.

No I don't think the m6 will do the 2 tones of mxt relic but if I'm not mistaken in the primary search mode of the m6 would be a single tone like the mxt primary mode if I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Stock M6 has 1 or 7 tones. I really think Whites should make a M6 Pro. 1,2,3,4 and 7 tone options. Back light, ground grab and panel mount threshold. Then set it up with whatever coil we want.

Thanks both for the response and khouse I think that would be a great idea. I'd buy one. BTW- I've decided that she's best off with an MXT (I'm biased) so that's what I'm looking to pick up for her.

It's a moot point now. I found a good deal on an MXT w/ 6x10 and good headphones so were all set. She's already going on Google earth to find places to hunt. My plan is working perfect !

It's not a plan...it's a plot! (Hee Hee!) She'll really enjoy the MXT.
Yes I will...I mean SHE will. LOL She's a natural. I loaned her a my fisher 1212x beep-dig last week to take on vacation and play around with...her 6th target was a beautiful antique brass locket w/scrolling in great cond. She's was hooked amd this thread is the result. I'm proud as a new poppa.

Acquaint her with the high tones and tell her to listen for them. She sounds like a smart person, she'll catch on as soon as she IDs a few dimes and quarters, not to mention silver rings.

I'll be doing exactly that. I'm glad I've outgrown my ultra-competitive nature of my younger days cuz I'm afraid it won't be long until I'm getting schooled by my "pupil". Thanks for the input everyone. The MXT will be here on Wednesday followed by some coils I picked up here from Desmond. She'll be set up better than me ! Hmmm....maybe I can swing a deal with her? LOL
