M6 stock coils vs. after market

Hi,
I recently purchased an M6, and already have an MXT. One reason I got the M6 was the interchangeability of my 10"DD and 5.3 coils. My question is: how good is the stock M6 coil? I know that the MXT's stock coil isn't all that great compared to the aftermarkets, but is it worth it to use the others on the M6? I haven't seen a large difference but would like to defer to those of you who really know this subject.

If you are talking about the 9.5 coil, there is no difference between the MXT and M6 coil even if the style is different. A lot has to do with personal preference and your ground. I use the 10" DD most of the time and Nancy uses the 9.5. We have both done well with the two different coils. I think the stock coil is getting a bum rap. I see where guys with the V3 are reporting great success with the 9.5 especially at the beach. In some areas with the right soil, the 9.5 (concentric) goes deeper than the 10" (DD) which starts to shine as the minerals go up.

I guess my question is whether the 5.3 and/or 10"DD would be a better choice over the stock coil in slightly/moderately mineralized ground for the M6.

I initially read your post thinking "after market" as in Excelerator coils or others not manufactured by Whites. I've personally stuck with several different sizes and types of Whites coils, but haven't tried the Excelerator or others. I've read good reports on them for the most part, but have seen a few negative comments. I personally use the 5.3 and the 6X10 DD for the most part and have been happy with those choices. If you read through the forum over a fair period you will find quite a few opinions on most of the coils available.
