M6 problem anyone?

My M6 screen went blank. The trigger does nothing as well, no pinpointing or tone ID. It still beeps & I've found coins. I've pulled the battery box out & put it back in. Any suggestions? My friend has an MXT that this happened to as well..........

If you cleaned it with a wet rag or let it get rained-on, that's your problem. Otherwise, there could be moisture inside. I'd put mine in the sun and let it sit there for an afternoon, or all day. If there's moisture inside, that MIGHT fix it. Otherwise: off to the repairman. Good luck. My MXT did the same thing when I cleaned it with a WET rag; never again. Now I just use a slightly DAMP rag. It took two hours of hunting in the sun for the screen to re-appear, though it still found coins and beeped. :)

I think I found the problem.....Somehow, the ground in behind the screen was loose. Tightened that up & it seems to be ok now. Sure does stink when your detector is on the fritz. Thanks Al at Pro-Stock!
