M6 & MXT

I have been useing the M6 for years and I do not like.....( Meters or Multi-Tones ).....on a detector. My screen is covered permanenty and the detector works in single tone only...I have never use any of the MXT series detectors...By my way of detecting, is there any adavntage of the MXT over the M6 by my way of detecting.

not if you coin and jewelry hunt.

Like mentioned no real gain if only for coin and jewelry hunting. There would be some added and very usable benefits with the MXT for relic and gold nugget hunting though.

Using your criteria stated for your specific likes in a detector. If for what ever reason your in the market for a new detector to try out that are super light and performs great. (Again based on or meets your listed criteria) take a look at the Tesoro line of detectors such as the Vaquero the Tejon or the Outlaw or the Cibola, all great performers. I really like my Tesoro Outlaw for the very reasons you stated concerning your likes in a detector.

White's are great detectors, I love my current model M6, my older XL Pro model detector and my MXT model that I no longer have. (All the White's detectors except there most basic model have meters and most have tones) That is the reason I suggested the Tesoro line of detectors to you.

The MXT itself doesn't have but one tone (coins-jewelry) and you do not need to look at the face to decide. the notch is too wide for a notch detector but is there if needed but you don't have to use the notch .Many coils to choose from. If the weight is a concern then a Tesoro or a Fisher detector. You never have to look at a face on any detector if u don't want. shortribs

The notch feature was removed for the MXT Pro (and All Pro) so you would need to scare up a machine of older vintage if you wanted that.

The m6 is in a silent search mode always while the mxt is threshold based. Yes, the mxt can be set up as a silent search machine, too. But if you're after some really deep and filigran stuff the threshold gives an advantage over silent search (rellic machine).
Depends on the user, and on the mxt you can decide what to go with, on the m6 you're fixed to silent search (coin shooter).
