Anyone ever compared the M6 to the Fisher F75?

to be more specific!..does the m6 separate in trash as well as the f-75 using the smaller coils?

little confused here .... I'm thinking of getting a new machine for the parks (only) so the M6 with the small 5 inch coil is bad for separating trash ? as I have better luck for jewelry hunting in the real trash's parts. so the 75 is better??

I use the M6 with a a 4x6DD coil in hrasvy trash areas and the trash separation is excellent. The 5 in concentric coil is pretty good but it can't hold a candle to ther 4x6 in a heavy trash area. Littletwig

on average, what kind of depth on coins are you getting with the 4+6 coil?..thanks!

do you use the 6+ 10 d.d in trash too?..if so,again what kind of depth are you getting, and is the 6+10 good in trash too?..thanks again!

My main coil I use on my M6 is the 6x10 DD. I use it probably 80-90 % of the time. The trash separation is really good, almost as good as the 4x6. I use the 4X6 in really heavy trash areas and in places where I need to get real close to something like playground equipment. The depth is a relative thing, It depends on soil type and soil moisture. The 6x10 in loamy soil that is moist, I consistantly get good hits at 7-9 in. In dried packed clay I consistantly get good hits a 6-7 in. The M6 is really good at finding those coins standing on end, especially dimes. The 4x6 gets about ther same depth a the 6x10 but you really need to work slow to max the benefits of this popwerful little coil. I know there are a lot of people out there that really like the Fisher machines but lets face it, ALL THE TOP OF THE LINE MACHINES WILL GET ABOUT THE SAME DEPTH. Your success will depend on how well you listen to what you tector is telling you. Use all the available info it's giving you and you will be successful. Keep your digger in the dirt, Littletwig

I agree, the M6 with the 5" excelerator or 5.3'' eclipse gets great trash separation, and about as good a depth as any smaller coil for whatever brand, as far as I have seen with mine, also look at the price tag of the two and I know what my decision would be! I love my M6 I have owned many of the other brands and cant find anything bad to say about this detector, my only complaint is the weight, but I am 5'8'' 115 lbs so I knew what I was getting into! although my arms are getting stronger and used to the balance quickly.Being outdoors, excercise, the chance to find a treasure of a lifetime, who can complain about that!
